With a little plexiglass that we had on hand, we made a solar powered shed light for only $4. Seriously! With a few solar pathway lights from the dollar store, we turned a plexiglass panel into a solar powered light. It’s simple, fast and it works! This could also be done to a chicken coop or small barn. If you’re still using an outhouse, heck, that would be a perfect application! :)

Another option to consider would be to not use plexiglass, but instead put the holes into a wood panel or metal roof. The solar cells stay on the outside and the lights are on the inside. They turn on automatically when it gets dark and recharge in the sun the next morning.
